"Don't worry...you're going b--" A blurry image appeared in the dream of a girl...the face of the boy who spoke to her was blurred, and the voice was slightly warped. And evil smerk lay placed across his face as he spoke. But his words were cut off as the girl forced her eyes open.
"Uh..er...mmm.." The girl moaned as she fluttered her lashes slowly and caught focus of her surroundings; she was laying on her side on the backstreet of, what seemed to be, the ghetto of a town. You could hear the pattering of the rain on the cobel stones she was resting on.
"Wha..where..?" She muttered as she slowly pushed herself off of the ground. She was soaked to the bone; she looked as though she had been lying out there for hours..but who can say how long she really was.
"This is...weird..." She spoke softly to herself as she moved her head around to look at her surroundings. Her brown shoulder length hair fell forward over her blue eyes as she looked down at her body; she wore a white dress, and it was now partially see-through.
"What am...where am I?" She continued to mummbled to herself as she picked up her pale delicate hands. She turned them over several times as she gazed at them intently.
"Yea yea, just have it done as soon as possible. The price isn't a problem. Thanks Cid!" A voice was heard nearby; this sparked her attention. It was a boy, he seemed around her age; 15. She looked up from her pruny hands and stared down the alley in front of her. She didn't know why, but she felt the need to go find whoever this person was..maybe he had some answers for her. Although it took her a few tries, she eventually found her footing and stood up straight. As she stumbled forward to the end of the alleyway, she caught site of the boy she suspected of talking; he was fairly tall, atleast 6 feet, he wore a black zip up sleevless shirt that was covered in an off yellow unzipped sleevless jacket, he also wore blue pants that were held up by a black and silver studded belt, and he had the most gorgeous silver hair.
"Uh...w..wait!" She called out to the boy, but why to him? She wasn't sure...
"Huh?" He hummed as he looked down the alleyway, what he saw surprised him. This girl looked like she was ready to collapse the way she was walking; one of her arms was following the edge of the wall as the other hung limp at her sides, her legs shook and she walked incredibly slow. As she felt her knees slowly cave in, she let out one last whisper of help. The boy quickly ran over to her and caught her as she fell.
"Are you alright?!" He sounded worried and very confused. Who was this girl, and where did she come from? And...why did she look SO familiar?
"I'm...alright...I just felt very light headed and weak...but i'll be fine..." She mutterted to the boy to confirm to him that she was still concious. For some reason, after that episode, she felt much better. As she found her footing again and began to stand, the boy held out his arms just incase she fell again. After confirming that she looked ok, he finally spoke.
"You gave me a scare there for a second, I thought I might've needed to get some mages over here or something," He joked nervously, but the girl stood there expressionless. He noticed this and let his laugh die out embarassingly.
"So, whats your name? I'm Riku," He spoke so smoothly as he gently smiled.
"My...name...??" She stood there for a second, her eyes wondered around like she was looking for an answer. Riku raised an eyebrow at this.
"You don't know your own name?" He questioned hesitantly. The girl re-made eyecontact with Riku and shook her head.
"To be quit honest...I don't remember much of anything..." She answered in a sorrowful tone. Riku's eyes seemed to fill with an unfamiliar warmth when she said that.
"I see...so you have amnesia...well..I guess, you can stick with me until you regain your memory. It shouldn't take that long," Riku smiled to the girl, "C'mon, I've got some errands to run..I was just about to rent an Inn room..would you like to stay there until I get back?"
Her head jerked up as a big smiled was painted over her face.
"I would love to! Thank You so much!" She bowed deeply; Riku laughed a little and shook his head. Then, he noticed her clothes finally and just how see-through they were.
"But first, let's buy you some news clothes," Riku blushed as he turned away from her and lead the way in to the main part of the town; she quickly followed. They walked for a few minutes quietly until they went through a giant door that lead in to another section of the town that had a seperated staircase and 4 houses in the area.
"This is the main part of Traverse Town," Riku explained, "Over there is the item shop, over there is Cid's shop, and over there is in the Inn."
She nodded her head just as Riku had finished explaining. As soon as he confirmed she heard him, Riku began to walk over to the Inn. The girl followed close behind him, almost like a baby chick. When they entered the Inn and got to the room they had rented, Riku turned around to leave again.
"I'll be right back, I'm just going to get you some clothes. You don't have to come. Just stay here." He stated as he shut the door behind him, leaving the girl alone in the room. She sat quietly on one of the two beds as she looked around. Some things had colours on them, and others did not. Some things were odly shaped, and other's seemed anitomically correct. A gentle breeze came through the window that brushed across her now half dry body; she looked the window and seemed like she was in deep thought for a moment or two before she finally spoke aloud.
"Air..A--" She started, but she suddenly got a splitting headache that brought her to her hands and knees on the floor. She opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out. She grasped her hair so tightly that pieces started to rip out.
"Ai...Air...Aira! Aira!...Aira...where have you been?" Various voices echoed in her mind, but the last finished with a boys. Blurred images poured in to her mind to fit the voices, but nothing was clear. She could really see no one, and they were all moving so fast. A second later, the headache stopped. The girl pushed herself back on to the bed as she gasped for air.
"Ai..Aira...my name is Aira!" She smiled in excitment, she couldn't wait to tell Riku when he got back. Only a few minutes later did he return.
"I'm back, are you--"
"My name is Aira!!!" Aira yelled as she jumped up from the bed, cutting off Riku's sentence. He finished entering the room with a few boxes as she finished.
"You remembered your name? It'll be alot easier to find out who you are now," Riku said as he approached Aira with the boxes.
"Here, these are for you," He handed Aira the boxes and turned around, " You can change, I won't look."
Aira smiled gently while she opened the boxes. She quickly got dressed, and was now completely dry.
"Um..I'm all done!" She stated as she tapped Riku on the shoulder. He turned his head around and then pushed his whole body to move. Aira began to blush as Riku looked her over. She wore a white pleated skirt with spandex pants that reached halfway down her thighs, she also had a blue zipped up sleevless shirt that had a broken belt attached to the bottom of it and two golden crowns on the side pockets, the black armwarmers she wore reached all the way up to her armpits with teh fingerholes cut out, white bell sleeves were buckled to her arms as well, and the brown boots she wore reached to her knees. A round golden necklace that was held by a black string was now noticable on her that wasn't before; this caught Riku's eye.
"What's that?" He questioned as he squinted to get a better look. Aira looked down at it as well.
"Um...I'm not sure...I just had it on me...I still don't remember much..." She averted her eyes to the floor, "I'm sorry..."
Riku felt bad, he wasn't really helping with the recollection of her memories by asking questions, he only seemed to be making it worse.
"Well! I'm leaving Traverse Town tomorrow, my ship should be finished with repairs by then..you're coming with me..right?" He asked as he turned around and walked over to his bed. Aira lifted her head up and nodded as she went to her bed that was parallel to Riku's.
"Alright...well...we should get some sleep for now..." Riku said as he stood up to flip off the lights. Aira pulled back the covers to her bed and crawled in, but she didn't fall asleep so easily. Riku went to his bed and layed there too, but Aira was unsure if he had fallen asleep or not; his back was turned to her. She layed there for hours turned on her side facing away from Riku as she stared at the moon through the window in front of her bed. Just as she felt her eyes going heavy, she heard a rustling noise from behind her. Riku had gotten out of bed, he walked to the window in front of Aira. She was sure he didn't know she was still awake. It was odd though...all he did was stare at the stars for as long as Aira could stay awake, and then, eventually, she shut her eyes to seeing the beautiful silver haired boy outlined in the moons light...
